End of support for Windows 10

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 will no longer receive free software updates, technical assistance, or security fixes.

If you’re using Windows 10, it’s recommended to upgrade to Windows 11 for enhanced security, better performance, and access to the latest features. If your current device doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11, you might consider purchasing a new device that comes pre-installed with Windows 11.

With the end of support for Windows 10 approaching in October 2025, many users are transitioning to Windows 11. However, it’s unlikely that Windows 11 will be the final operating system from Microsoft. The company has a history of continuously developing and releasing new versions of Windows to incorporate the latest technological advancements and meet evolving user needs.

Microsoft is expected to continue this trend, introducing future versions of Windows with new features, improvements, and enhanced security measures. So, while Windows 11 is the latest version, it is not expected to be the last.

So if you have an older system that doesn't support Windows 11, you can switch to Linux

There are several reasons why some people prefer Linux over Windows:

Below are the 8 reasons why switch from Windows to Linux;

1. Open Source: Linux is open source, meaning its source code is freely available for anyone to view, modify, and distribute. This transparency can lead to more secure and customizable software.

2. Security: Linux is generally considered more secure than Windows. It has a robust permission system and a smaller user base, which makes it less targeted by malware.

3. Performance: Linux can run efficiently on older hardware, making it a good choice for reviving older computers. It often requires fewer resources than Windows.

4. Customization: Linux offers a high degree of customization. Users can choose from various desktop environments and window managers to tailor their experience.

5. Cost: Linux is free to use, whereas Windows often requires purchasing a license.

6. Development: Linux is favored by developers due to its powerful command-line tools, package management, and support for a wide range of programming languages.

7. Privacy: Linux distributions typically respect user privacy more than Windows, which has been criticized for its data collection practices.

8. Community Support: Linux has a strong community of users and developers who contribute to forums, documentation, and open-source projects.
